sunday soul post

On Sundays I roll up my sleeves, put on some Motown, and get to cleaning. The music I listen to is pretty standard, and what you would expect. Gladys, Marvin, Diana, and of course Ms. Aretha. I stumbled across a new artist that is about to get put in that playlist as well. Jamie Lidell is an unattractive (sorrry!) white guy from England, but his sound is as inspired by Sunday Soul as anyone I’ve heard in years. There is something about his beats and voice and even videos that envoke a certain timeless quality. He has two albums out, and so I chose two songs from each album to give you guys an idea of what I am talking about. The first is “Multiply,” which got considerable attention on an episode of Grey’s, and the second is “Little Bit of Feel Good.” Take a listen, I’m sure you’ll like it.
